About the Campaign
As the election campaign gathers pace, we have relaunched the David versus
Goliath campaign to raise much-needed cash online for Labour marginal seat candidates who have been targeted for years by Lord Ashcroft’s money, the Davids across the country who are standing up to the Goliath whose influence is making itself felt.
As much is made of the British sense of fair play we think that the time has come to provide activists and voters with the opportunity to donate to our brave campaigners, the underdog Davids pounding the streets to make sure Labour’s voice is heard.
We have profiled Labour candidates in the top 100 Labour seats targeted by the Tories, or Labour seats which are now notionally Conservative following boundary changes. These are the seats which will determine the outcome of the next electio.
Read the candidates’ stories and donate whatever amount you can to direct to their campaigns.
The candidate who receives the most number of donations over the next fortnight will be matchfunded up to £1000. So get donating to help your candidate get their message out, and reach twice as many people with the matchfunding!
£5 pays for leaflets for two streets, £50 pays for leaflets for 20 streets. This can make the crucial difference in getting our message across to voters. You can find the donation link at the end of each candidate’s story.
Follow us too on Facebook and Twitter
You can also read more about Lord Ashcroft’s donations here.
The matchfunding winner will be determined on the basis of number of people donating to a candidate beginning 13th April 2010. The winner will be decided 30th April at 12:00 midday.
